Originally hand made in Afghanistan, Zieglers began their historic journey in 1883, and are often referred to as Chobi rugs or Peshawar Rugs. The name Ziegler (or Zeigler) was initially thought to be the name of a tribe or a city, however, it refers to the design and quality of the rug.
Having experienced years of war and turmoil, the production of these magnificent rugs was moved from Afghanistan to Peshawar, on the Afghan Pakistan border, and now are also manufactured in India.
Designed to fit into any home, these hand made rugs offer muted colours, developed through the use of vegetable dyes and offer a range of simple but striking patterns allowing them to compliment both modern and antique furniture.
Rugs Original offers a specific catalogue collection, however, if given enough time, are happy to custom make orders.
